Davis Blanket Pattern
The Davis blanket is a great stash buster if you’ve got bits of yarn lingering from past projects. Knit one mitered quadrant at a time, Davis has stripes as random as you want to make them (or as regular as you need them to be). Made from a washable yarn, it makes the perfect baby gift that won’t tire you out before you hit the final bind off.
Davis is named for my guild’s charity coordinator, Judith Davis, who has challenged our guild to knit hundreds of comfort items for the metro Detroit community over the past five years. The pattern was inspired with her encouragement, to help the guild bust through our ever-growing stash of donated yarn. The Black Sheep Knitting Guild intends to knit many of these blankets to donate to local homeless children in 2012. If you are knitting Davis for a loved one, please consider knitting a second one to donate in Judith’s name to someone in need.
